How moons work

A moon is a launch credit. A typical launch uses ~700 moons. Your plan tells you exactly how many launches per month you get. No math, no surprises.

//moon packs · one-time top-ups

Pay only for what you ship.

Prefer to keep it simple? Buy launch credits directly. $100 pack gets you 30,000 moons (~43 launches). Bigger packs unlock bigger bonuses, up to +50%. Top-up moons never expire.

Buying $50+ in packs regularly? You’re overpaying. Starter ($49/mo) or Pro ($99/mo) gives the same moons for 25-40% less.

Common questions.

What is a Moon?+
A Moon is a launch credit. A typical launch uses ~700 moons; each plan gives you enough moons for a known number of launches per month. Your wallet debits in moons as an agent runs, and every run has a hard per-run spend ceiling enforced between phases - so you can never overshoot the reserve you set.
How much does one launch cost?+
Based on the last 295 successful launches, most ships land between 300 and 750 Moons ($0.30$0.75). Every run has a per-run spend ceiling enforced between phases, so you can never overshoot your reserve.
Do I need a paid plan to get started?+
No. New accounts get 2,500 welcome moons - enough for ~3 typical launches, no card required. After that, top up with a Moon pack or subscribe to a plan that includes moons each month.
Will my code and app be locked to Moonshift?+
No. Generated apps land on your GitHub, your Vercel, and your Turso. If you cancel, you keep the repo, the deploy, the database, and the marketing artifacts. Moonshift is the orchestrator - the product is yours.
Will Moonshift post to my X or LinkedIn without permission?+
Never. The publisher agent drafts posts and parks them at a human-approval gate (PENDING.json). Nothing publishes until you approve each post and platform from the dashboard. This is a hard product invariant - it cannot be bypassed.
What languages / stacks do you support?+
The default generated stack is Next.js 14 + Drizzle + Tursowith Playwright for tests, because that’s the most reliable path to a live URL in five minutes. The orchestrator supports 9 starter shapes: ai-app, api-only, content, dashboard, forms, marketing, saas, scheduling, and a generic base. Three of these (SaaS landing, admin dashboard, MDX blog) are surfaced as one-click quick-pick tiles in the UI; the rest are picked automatically by the planner based on your prompt.
What LLM providers do you use?+
OpenAI (gpt-5.4-mini / nano for reasoning, gpt-image-2 for hero images) and Anthropic (claude-sonnet-4-6 for code generation, claude-opus-4-7 for validation). Our accounts are configured so your prompts are not used to train third-party models.
What happens if a run fails?+
Every run is resumable. If an agent crashes mid-pipeline, you hit Resumeand we pick up from the last successful phase - no re-spending Moons on earlier work. If the contract validator can’t reconcile after 3 fixer retries, the run fails safely and the Moons spent so far are the only charge.
Do unused moons roll over?+
Monthly plan moons reset on your billing date- a fresh allowance lands every cycle, so you can’t stockpile across months. Top-up moons never expire: anything you bought directly stays in your wallet for as long as your account exists, even if you cancel your subscription.
What if I run out of moons mid-month?+
Three options: buy a top-up pack (credited instantly), upgrade your plan (we prorate the difference and the new allowance lands immediately), or wait for your next billing cycle. Either way, your already-shipped apps keep running on your own Vercel + Turso - they never depend on your moon balance.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Subscriptions cancel at the end of the current billing period via the Dodo customer portal in your billing page. Unused Moons remain in your wallet during beta.
Do you have a Teams plan?+
Teams is in closed preview. If you need shared projects, central billing, SSO, or an invoice-pay workflow, email [email protected].
